Part 1. Pick one subject area and write a review of the Mississippi standards. What is the purpose of having standards? Discuss how they are divided. Discuss anchor standards. How should teachers use the standards? What resources are provided for teachers assist with interpreting and teaching the standards? You must list references from the book or other resources to strengthen your response.

Part 2. Pick one subject and one grade (Math or ELA). Do a detailed comparison of the standards of the Mississippi and Texas standards for that particular grade and subject. For example, if you select 4th grade English Language Arts. You will review the 4th grade ELA standards for Mississippi and Texas. Then, you will do a comparison of the two. What do you see? Do students at that grade and subject level seem to learn the same things in both states? Does one seem more rigorous than the other? Etc…

Part 3. Pick one subject and one grade (Math or ELA Mississippi Standards). Then select one standard (or combination for that grade/subject) and create one small activity/assignment that aligns to that standard.
